I am new to the 360 degree feedback process and have been given the opportunity to document my experience for others to gain an account and insight into the process and how I use the information for development. With posts at regular intervals I will include updates and information at each stage of the process sharing my experience and a real account of how I am finding things. I am also going to be using a platform for development called Momentor
, which I am told, will plug in the results from my 360 degree feedback and allow me to set goals, develop my action plan and monitor progress.
1st July 2014: Nominating and Self-Rating
Today I received my 360 degree feedback invitation via email. I was already expecting this and my manager has explained the purpose of the 360 review and the process. The 360 tool that has been chosen is called LeaderView360. I was told that this was the most appropriate questionnaire for my level within the organisation and the behaviours and competencies required in my role. It was made very clear to me that this 360 degree feedback process was confidential and solely to be used for my personal development. On one hand I am a little nervous about what to expect as this is the first 360 I have completed for myself and I wonder how my colleagues will respond, on the other I am looking forward to having the kind of feedback that this will provide me with to make some informed decisions about where best to focus development efforts.
